BenJJedi's The Jungle Book Recast Meme

*MAJOR EDIT, 3/9/18: I have changed the casting for the roles of Shere Khan, Kaa and Mowgli to ones that hopefully make more sense.*

Okay, I saw 's blank Jungle Book recast meme here  and I thought I ought to give this a shot, since I'm planning a Jungle Book fanmake in honor of the 2016 live-action reimagining released a few months back. So... Let's dive in, shall we?

Zira (The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride) as Shere Khan
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Why not Scar as Shere Khan? He's much like Scar in every aspect." Yes, I know. But to be honest, that definitely would've been a little too obvious. Plus, Scar comes off as more of a whiny prima donna at times than a sophisticated gentleman like Shere Khan does. So I settled on his "better" half from the sequel, Zira. Much like SK, Zira is not only cunning and ruthless, she has a rather charismatic charm to her.


Princess Luna (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) as Bagheera
While Luna is a stern and no-nonsense princess on the surface, she is a very caring Alicorn when you take the time to know her. Much like Bagheera can be to Mowgli. Both are very stern, but at the end of the day care for those they know.

Eris (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas) as Kaa
Okay, initially the role was going to Nagini, but I figured that wasn't exactly very fitting. So when I was chnging the roles of Shere Khan, Mowgli and Kaa, I remember asking a good friend of mine, , for an idea for the role of Kaa and she suggested Eris from the underrated Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. And honestly, it's got to be very fitting since both Kaa and Eris are cunning and tend to lull their victims into a sense of false security, making them believe they're trustworthy and will keep their word. Plus, Eris is rather slinky and seductive.

Tiger (An American Tail series) as Baloo
Not necessarily the first choice I had in mind for Baloo. But then, I remembered that Tiger is a pretty easygoing feline and can be really tough and aggressive if absolutely necessary. You can thank and a pic I requested of him years back for the idea. www.deviantart.com/deviation/6…

Butters Stotch (South Park) as Mowgli
After much consideration, I figured on going back to the thought of casting a human as Mowgli. The most innocent and vulnerable kid I settled on was none other than my second favorite character on South Park, Butters. While he can be a bit more levelheaded than Mowgli at times, Butters isn't one to hesitate when it comes to staring in the face of danger and sometimes can be a bit bratty and defiant (sometimes for legitimate reasons).

Leonard (The Angry Birds Movie) as King Louie
Again, I ran out of ideas for this role. But... Leonard is a king and his subjects are rather troublesome, much like Louie and the Bandar-Log.

Kermit the Frog (The Muppets) as Colonel Hathi
This is probably even more of a headscratcher to you than Fievel as Mowgli, but if you think about it, it makes good sense. The Muppets are usually always screwing things up and it is usually frustrating for poor Kermit, who isn't always the most patient frog on the planet. Not to mention Hathi is pretty no-nonsense. But then again, what type of colonel isn't no-nonsense?
